Man shot in Dayton; car and house also struck by bullets

UPDATE @ 11:05 p.m.

The man shot on Nicholas Road suffered injuries that are not life-threatening, Dayton police Sgt. Chad Knedler said.

Police responded to a report of shots fired when they were directed to the gunshot victim, he said.

Police also were on nearby Alvin Avenue, where a vehicle had bullet holes, the sergeant said.

There also were reports a house on Alvin Avenue was hit by gunfire.

FIRST REPORT

Police and medics were called tonight to a report of a shooting in the city.

Crews were called for a shooting victim around 9:30 p.m. in the 3800 block of Nicholas Road in Dayton.

At least one person was reported to be shot. There is no word on that person’s condition.
