The 66-year-old’s cause and manner of death is listed as pending.

A man pulled from the Great Miami River Thursday night has been identified as a Dayton man, the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office said.
Phillip Scandrick, 66, was pulled from the river after citizens on the bike path in the area noticed something unusual in the water.

Scandrick’s autopsy is scheduled for Friday, the coroner’s office said.
UPDATE @ 1 a.m. (June 15):
Passersby alerted authorities late Thursday night to a man’s body floating down the Great Miami River.
“A couple citizens on the bike path noticed something unusual in the water, turned out to be an individual deceased in the water,” Dayton police Lt. Jason M. Hall said.
The person has not been identified, and the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office is scheduled to perform an autopsy today.
It is not known how the man came to be in the water, but of the body, Hall said, “it had been in the water for some time.”
Hall said police will be working to determine whether the body matches the description of any missing persons in the area.

A Five Rivers MetroParks ranger confirmed a body was pulled from the Great Miami River in Dayton.
We are working to learn more information about the deceased person and how long he or she may have been in the water.

FIRST REPORT
Crews were called late Thursday night to a report of a possible body found in the Great Miami River.
A man and woman reported around 11:10 p.m. that they spotted what they believed to be a body floating in the river across from 405 W. Riverview Ave., according to the Montgomery County Regional Dispatch Center.
