A 27-year-old man was arrested for possession of marijuana, among other suspected narcotics, Tuesday evening during a routine traffic stop near Salem Avenue.

An officer pulled over Isaiah Thomas after noticing the white Pontiac Bonneville he was driving had dark window tint and no front license plate, according to a Dayton police report.

While Thomas was searching for his driver's license, the officer noticed a tied sandwich bag containing marijuana in the cup holder between the front and passenger seats.

After the officer asked Thomas to exit the vehicle, a small plastic bag containing multiple gel capsules suspected as an illegal narcotic fell to the ground. Thomas stepped on the bag and attempted to cover up the capsules while being handcuffed, according to the report.

During the officer's search, another sandwich bag containing what the officer suspected as heroin was removed from Thomas' front left pants pocket.

An additional bag with five gel capsules containing a suspected white-grayish narcotic substance was removed from the Bonneville, as well as three cell phones from Thomas' person, according to the report.

Police tagged 2.1 grams of suspected narcotics, 10 gel capsules, and 3.9 grams of marijuana into evidence, as well as Thomas' three cell phones.
