Homicide detectives investigating OD report

UPDATE @ 2:30 a.m.

The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office identified the man whose death prompted an investigation by homicide detectives.

48-year-old James Bowen of Dayton was identified by the office, but his cause of death remains undetermined.

An autopsy is scheduled to be completed on Monday.


Homicide detectives are called tonight following the report of an overdose.

Medics initially were called shortly after 7:22 p.m. to a report of an overdose in the 300 block of Xenia Avenue in Dayton. No one was taken to a local hospital from the residence, according to the Montgomery County Regional Dispatch Center.

Within the hour, police at the residence requested that detectives be called to the scene. No further information is available.
