“There’s a man out here laying on the ground. I heard a shot. And there’s a man laying out here in the field,” a woman who called 911 said.

She said she was too far away to see blood or the victim.

“I heard a shot. There’s somebody out there with him now. ... He’s on the ground and he needs help,” she said.

She said one man walked up and stood near the body. Two other people approached the first man while she was on the phone, then walked away.

She said she didn’t know where the shot came from.

A “lady” joined the others in the field, said the caller, who added she hoped they would still be there when police arrived.

A white vehicle believed to have been involved in the incident was last seen heading north on Haberer Avenue, according to the call log associated with the incident.
