When the woman could not by the time she returned, prosecutors said Crane first yelled at her and jerked the woman to a sitting position by her arms, and a short time later when the woman was still in bed, violently jerked her to a standing position, giving the woman neck pain and large bruises on her forearms.

“Abusing senior citizens, some of the most vulnerable citizens in our community, is bad enough, but when the abuser is employed specifically to care for the elderly, it is especially troubling,” Montgomery County Prosecutor Mat Heck said. “We take these allegations very seriously, and we will hold abusers accountable. We all need to protect the elders in our community and keep them safe.”
Crane was indicted on one count of patient abuse, to which she pleaded not guilty.
