A man was arrested by Darke County deputies early this morning after he allegedly fired a gun inside his home while intoxicated.
Around 2 a.m., deputies responded to the 1060 Red River West Grove Road on the report of a shot being fired inside the residence. The suspect's wife told authorities they were having a discussion and argument over a requested divorce when the suspect, identified as Richard Macy Jr., shot a round from a .45 revolver into the bedroom ceiling. Two children, ages 8 and 14, were home at the time of the incident.
When deputies responded, Macy was in a barn behind the residence, according to a release. He eventually came out and was taken into custody without incident.
Macy was arrested on charges of weapons while intoxicated and aggravated menacing.
