Driver tells police he’s ‘pretty much’ drunk

A driver trying to enter a drive-through at a fast food restaurant at 9:12 p.m. in the 300 block of East National Road was thought to be intoxicated, even though he didn’t think it hampered his driving.

He told police he had a few beers and when asked if he were intoxicated, said, “pretty much.”

He also said he felt well enough to drive, despite poor field sobriety tests and a .189 breath test recording – more than double the .08 limit.

He said all he had to drink were three beers and a Jager Bomb.

After he was cited, he was released to a sober driver.
