Deputies in Darke County say a man was not wearing a helmet when he crashed his motorcycle south of Union City Saturday night.
Crews were dispatched around 9 p.m. Saturday to the 7700 block of Palestine Union City Road on a reported motorcycle crash.
According to a release from the Darke County Sheriff’s Office, the operator, identified as Matthew R. Glenn, 21, of Greenville, lost control, went off the right side of the roadway, and was ejected from the motorcycle.
Glenn was transported by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital, and is listed in serious condition.
Deputies say Glenn was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The crash remains under investigation, but speed is believed to be a factor.
