The First Street Design Group hopes police can locate a piece of hair art and the thief who took it from the salon's wall.
The artwork, made of human hair and worth an estimated $10,000, was reported stolen Tuesday from the salon, at 112 W. First St., according to the Dayton police report.
The complainant is the artist who works at the salon. She told police she had loaned the artwork to celebrate the salon's "re-grand opening."
Police said members of a cleaning crew may be responsible for the theft.
The cleaning crew had been fired after hair products turned up missing, according to the report.
