Hamilton assault that turned deadly going to grand jury

A grand jury will now consider the case of a Hamilton man charged with murder after an assault that turned deadly.

Brandon Lee Mills, 40, of Parkamo Avenue, is accused of causing the death of Jeremy Combs on Aug. 11.

FIRST REPORT: Weekend assault in Hamilton turns deadly

Combs, 41, of Hastings Avenue, was found unresponsive at a home on Hampshire Court and was pronounced dead at an area hospital, according to a police report.

“It was an assault that turned deadly,” said Hamilton police Sgt. Brian Robinson.

Today, Mills waived his right to a preliminary hearing in Hamilton Municipal Court and the case was automatically sent to a Butler County grand jury for consideration.

Defense attorney David Washington told the Journal-News he is working on a resolution to the case, possibly before the grand jury hears it.
