'Horseplay' with suspect's son leads to stabbing in Dayton

Dayton officers rushed to 300 block of Firwood Drive just before midnight Saturday.

According to the police report, Charles Carpenter, 48, told police the victim wouldn't stop "horseplaying" with his 10-year-old son.

That's why, Carpenter admitted to police, he picked up a three-inch-long paring knife and held it up to the 50-year-old victim.

Police said the group told officers they'd been drinking moonshine.

Medic's said the victim's cut was two inches wide and not life-threatening.
