Indian man, visiting U.S., faces child sex charges

A 65-year-old resident of India visiting the U.S. has been indicted on 24 charges alleging he sought sex and fondled several young children.

Parposh Kumar Verma was visiting Warren County on a short-term visa when he allegedly approached, solicited and fondled himself in front of three children outside the Sai Bada Temple, according to Warren County Prosecutor David Fornshell.

Verma was arrested and charged in a 24-count indictment. He faces 10 counts of gross sexual imposition, four counts of attempted gross sexual imposition, three counts of importuning, one count of criminal child enticement and six counts of public indecency.

He remained in the county jail, awaiting arraignment in Warren County Common Pleas Court.
