Goodwin pleaded guilty to murder, felonious assault and a weapons charge the morning his trial was scheduled to start in September.
As part of his plea, he agreed to a sentence of 18 years to life in prison, according to court documents.
But when Goodwin appeared in court for his sentencing two days later, he asked Judge Dennis Adkins if he could withdraw his plea.
The request was taken under advisement following a a separate hearing in September.

Adkins’ decision to overrule the motion was filed today, according to a court official.
Goodwin was indicted on two counts of murder, three counts of felonious assault and two counts of discharge of firearms on or near prohibited premises in the Oct. 2, 2018, shooting death of Childs, his ex-girlfriend.
Prosecutors said that Goodwin got into an argument with Childs and her boyfriend on Mumma Avenue in Dayton.

After Goodwin pulled out a gun, Childs called 911 and got into a car with her boyfriend. They were trying to drive away when Goodwin reportedly fired into the car.
Child was shot in the head and her boyfriend drove her to Grandview Medical Center.
She died early Oct. 3, 2018, from her injuries.
