Officers were sent to a vacant home in the 500 block of East Grand Avenue about 1:50 a.m. Thursday after a caller saw four people with flashlights around the property, according to public court documents. After entering the home, officers said they heard Brown upstairs and asked him to come downstairs. While being questioned, Brown became agitated and argumentative, the court records allege.

Officers searched Brown and alleged they found two metal crack pipes. He was then taken into custody by officers.

As other officers searched the home, Brown and an officer waited outside on the front porch. Brown allegedly then grabbed an officer’s hand, wedging the handcuff he was wearing onto the officers wrist. The suspect reportedly then dropped his full body weight onto the cuff, pinning the officer’s wrist to the porch railing and causing injury, according to the court documents.

In the vacant home, officers alleged they found a clear plastic baggie containing a white powdery substance, which might be cocaine, court records say.
