Man arrested for alleged assault in Mercer Co.

A 25-year-old man was arrested at his workplace Monday on suspicion of assault, according to a Mercer County Sheriff’s Office release.

Mercer County deputies responded to a call from a mother indicating that Nathan Frederick, 25, had physically restrained her daughter and prevented her from leaving his residence.

While the woman’s daughter was in his home he pulled her hair, choked her, held a handgun to his own head and threatened to kill them both, according to the release. The suspect then discharged the firearm inside the residence, according to the release.

Deputies searched the suspect’s home in the 200 block of Lowry Road. Inside they recovered a Ruger LCP .380 handgun with one spent round and five live rounds; drug paraphernalia including marijuana pipes; an electronic scale; suspected marijuana residue; and a suspected marijuana grinder, the release says.

Frederick is being held in Mercer County Adult Detention Facility, according to the release.
