Man found shot to death in Butler Twp. woods is from Africa

BUTLER TWP., Montgomery County — Police have released the name of the man found dead of a gunshot wound to the chest Saturday in a wooded area near 10100 Frederick Place.

Zenzele D. Mdadane, 25, of Durban, South Africa, has been identified as the homicide victim. Previously he was only identified as a black male with a goatee, large scar on his left knee and the word “ZENZELE” tattooed on his chest.

He was found dead at 6 p.m. Feb. 19 by someone who called police. Mdadane was pronounced dead at 6:15 p.m. and died of multiple gunshot wounds, according to the Montgomery County Coroner’s office.

Butler Twp. police delayed releasing his name until his family could be notified.

The last street address that the coroner’s office had for Mdadane was in East Brunswick, NJ.

In a press release Friday, police said they do not know why Mdadane was in Ohio.

How long the body was there and how it got there are still under investigation, police said.

Police are working with the coroner’s office in the homicide investigation.

Anyone with any information about Mdadane is asked to contact Butler Township Police at (937) 233-2080 or Crime Stoppers at (937) 222-7867.
