Jackson is housed in the Butler County Jail, and his case has been assigned to Butler County Common Pleas Judge Jennifer McElfresh, but an arraignment date has not been set.
FIRST REPORT: Police respond to shooting in Middletown
The shooting occurred just after 1 p.m., according to the Hamilton police report. Jeremy Watson, 33, of Middletown, suffered multiple gunshot wounds. Several residences were also hit by gunfire.
According to officials, Jackson was wounded in the crossfire and later showed up at an area hospital.
Officers and detectives were at the shooting scene for four hours collecting bullet casings and other evidence.
Hamilton Schools put Riverview Elementary School, which is several blocks from the shooting scene, into a lockdown following the shooting.
