The man mauled by three dogs remained in serious condition Wednesday morning at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.
Bruce Lasik received multiple bite wounds from three Cane Corso dogs on his torso, legs and arms on Tuesday afternoon, according to records from the Clark County Combined Health District.
Police are working with the Clark County Humane Society to continue to search for one of three large dogs that attacked Lasik in the 1300 block of Bellefaire Avenue.
Lasik knows the owner of two of the dogs, Karlon Avery, and crossed an invisible fence to pet one of them. All three attacked and continued to bite and drag Lasik through the yard for nearly 20 minutes before police shot at the dogs and scared them off. Avery was not home during the attack.
Two dogs, one of which was shot, were taken into custody by the humane society. The dog that was shot has died. The third dog — a gray, 8-month-old female Cane Corso — is still at large.
Police say no charges have been filed.
