A Springfield man who overcharged an elderly West Milton woman for yard work was sentenced today to a year in prison.
Tyler Baisden, 25, pleaded guilty July 11 to theft by deception in Miami County Common Pleas Court. He told the woman one price for the work involving trees and mulch, but later said it cost more, county Prosecutor Tony Kendell said.
As part of a plea deal, prosecutors agreed to recommend a one-year sentence. Judge Jeannine Pratt followed the recommendation ordering Baisden to serve one year concurrent with a one-year term ordered recently in Clark County on a theft charge.
Baisden also was ordered to pay $2,775 in restitution.
