Miami County man indicted after infant son suffers skull fractures

A Miami County grand jury has indicted a Piqua man accused of critically injuring his infant son in November.

Brent William Hennon II, 19, faces felony charges of felonious assault and child endangering. He has been held in the county jail since his arrest in late November for allegedly assaulting his 2-week-old son Nov. 22-23 in Piqua.

Piqua police said the child suffered “multiple skull fractures as well as fractures of ribs and extremities” while in his father’s care.

Marley Hennon was taken in critical condition to Dayton Children’s Hospital.

The grand jury heard the case Dec. 27. Hennon was served with the indictments over the weekend in the county jail, according to jail records.

The charges are both second-degree felonies, which carry prison time of up to eight years. County Prosecutor Tony Kendell confirmed the indictments. Arraignment for Hennon is scheduled for Monday in county Common Pleas Court.

Hennon has been held on $500,000 bail set in county Municipal Court. He earlier pleaded not guilty to the initial felonious assault charge.
