Jie Lin of Middletown was getting ready to pump gas into his 2018 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle when an older gray Lexus pulled up. A man exited the car, pointed a gun at Jie Lin and demanded his motorcycle, police said.
Both vehicles then fled traveling south on Cincinnati-Dayton Road. Through surveillance video at the gas station, officers identified Dock Gibbs as the suspect.
Gibbs, 24, was also a suspect in the attempted theft of another motorcycle on July 7, which resulted in a police pursuit that was called off for safety concerns, and the theft of a Ford Mustang on July 25.
Today, detectives were checking multiple locations for Gibbs when they received information that he was at an address on Cleveland Street, Reeve said. The Lexus and motorcycle were found at 615 Cleveland St., and people in the residence were detained.
