An Ohio doctor of osteopathic medicine practicing in Jefferson County remains in jail Friday night, accused of drug trafficking in a state pharmacy board county task force investigation.
Douglas Trubiano, 43, is being detained on no bond and is to be in court Monday, a jail supervisor said.
Trubiano was arrested Friday afternoon when members of the Jefferson County Drug Task Force, on a warrant, searched his medical office in the 300 block of Jefferson Street in Tiltonsville, the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy said in a prepared statement released Friday night.
Evidence seized included medical records and a computer.
The pharmacy board launched the joint investigation in March after receiving an anonymous complaint accusing Dr. Trubiano of inappropriately prescribing large quantities of controlled substances to female patients.
Jefferson County is in eastern Ohio. The county seat is Steubenville.
The investigation is to continue and anyone with information is asked to call the pharmacy board at 614-466-4143 or the task force at 740-346-0908.
