OSP arrests 3 from N.Y. in disabled stolen car

Two 18-year-old men and a 16-year-old from New York, found in a stolen car that had become disabled on Interstate 70, are in custody, the Ohio Highway Patrol said Monday.

Troopers from the Springfield post found the three males Sunday morning in a 1997 Honda Civic, parked on the right berm of the interstate near milepost 63. Troopers had stopped to investigate the car because of where it was parked.

Harley Ryan and Tyler Pettengill remained in the Clark County Jail on Monday night on a charge of receiving stolen property. Bond for each is set at $10,000.

The 16-year-old was taken to the county juvenile detention center, according to OSP.

All three are from Gloversville, N.Y., in Fulton County in the eastern part of the state.

They told troopers they didn't know who the owner of the vehicle was.

During their investigation, troopers found that the vehicle was reported stolen the previous day and that the three were suspects in a pursuit of a stolen car involving several agencies.

All three will be sent back to New York, according to the OSP.
