Peaceful evening interrupted by marijuana

MIAMISBURG – It was quiet and peaceful in the 700 block of S. Bayberry Drive, said the man who parked there with his lights off at 2:16 a.m.

That’s why he chose this spot after he picked up some grub at a nearby fast food restaurant. It was also across the street from a home with an open garage door.

When a police cruiser happened by and was about to stop, the driver turned on his lights and drove away. He didn’t get far, and when the officer approached, he didn’t smell hamburgers and French fries.

He smelled marijuana and asked if there was any in the car. The driver said no, but a search revealed some, along with cigarette rolling papers and a grinder. He was given a summons for possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The home with the open garage was alerted, and nothing was found missing.
