Perry Twp. fatal crash victim is Miami County man

UPDATE @ 9:35 p.m.: The victim in the fatal crash is 21-year-old Robert Webb, of the Miami County village of Pleasant Hill, the Montgomery County Coroner's Office said.

An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday.

Alan Brunk, 41, of Lewisburg, who was driving a red 2000 Ford F750 straight truck with a trailer, was not injured.

UPDATE @ 7:17 p.m.: The victim in the fatal crash, believed to be a Miami County resident, went left of center for unknown reason, OSP Sgt. John Chesser said.

The driver of the southbound gray 1999 Chevrolet Malibu collided nearly head on with the oncoming truck and died at the scene, Chesser said.

A patrol traffic crash reconstruction team was dispatched to the scene. North Diamond Mill Road was expected to be shut down at least a couple of hours for that investigation, Chesser said.

UPDATE @ 5:54 p.m.: The victim in the fatal crash is a male in his 20s, a Montgomery County coroner's investigator said.

That victim, who was in a dark sedan, has been removed to the coroner's office.

Troopers with the Ohio Highway Patrol are interviewing the driver of the other vehicle, a large truck that was pulling a trailer. That driver apparently was not injured.

The road continues to be shut down in both directions as troopers are continuing their investigation.

FIRST REPORT: Perry Township police are on the scene of a fatal crash near the intersection of Shiloh Springs Road and North Diamond Mill.

According to our crew on the scene the accident is near Sycamore State Park, and the intersection is closed just south of Snake Road.

We know that two cars are involved in the crash. Investigators are waiting on state troopers to arrive on scene.

A Montgomery County Coroner's office investigator and a chaplain have also been sent to the scene.
