Police: Dollar General robber sheds clothing as he flees

UPDATE @ 9:35 p.m.

Police found clothing in the driveway of a home on nearby Willowwood Avenue that matched the description of the Dollar General robbery suspect, police said.

The suspect was described as a thin man in his 20s who stands about 5 feet, 8 inches with his hair in braids. He fled the store with cash from the register, according to police.


Police in Dayton are investigating after a reported armed robbery at the Dollar General.

Officers responded shortly after 4 p.m. to the store, 2312 N. Main St.

Early reports indicated the robber was wearing a mask, displayed a handgun and got away with cash from the register.

Dayton officers canvased the area in an effort to track the robber’s whereabouts.
