Police: Man stabbed in neck with whiskey bottle over beer pong bet

What started out as a friendly game of beer pong on Sunday turned into a “bloodbath” at an Albuquerque hotel, authorities said.

Matthew Duran, 20, is accused of hitting a man over the head with a whiskey bottle, then slicing his neck with the broken bottle.  The victim, who was not identified by authorities, suffered a severed artery during the attack and lost 2 liters of blood.

Authorities described the scene inside a room at Hotel Cascada as a "blood bath" and a "slaughter," according to KOB.

The argument stemmed from a $20 beer pong bet, the criminal complaint said.

Duran was also found to be in possession of a large quantity of oxycodone, along with marijuana and cocaine, authorities said. Duran was arrested along with his sister, Shante Gonzales, who authorities said had heroin in her backpack.
