Police arrest suspect in Miami Twp. double stabbing; Bail set at $250K

UPDATE @ 10:20 p.m. (Jan. 3, 2019): The suspect reportedly involved in the double stabbing in Miami Twp. in December was arrested and booked in jail Thursday, according to Miami Valley Jail records.

Duane E. Taylor Jr., 30, was arrested at a residence on Pensacola in Miami Twp. and booked into the Montgomery County Jail on suspicion of two counts of felonious assault, jail records show.

His bail is set for $250,000 cash and he is due in court Friday morning.

INITIAL STORY (Dec. 28, 2018)

Police are searching for a man who stabbed a man and woman Friday night during an apparent “family dispute” at the Barclay Square Condominiums.

Miami Twp. police named the suspect as 30-year-old Duane Edward Taylor Jr. who was wanted in connection to the double stabbing that happened around 8:15 p.m. in the 2200 block of Crew Circle, according to a BOLO or “be on (the) lookout” broadcast early Saturday.

“It appears it’s going to be a family dispute” that led to the stabbings, Miami Twp. police Sgt. Julie Fiebig said at the scene.

“Throughout our investigation we have learned that this is going to be a known suspect to those individuals. Both of them were transported to an area hospital with what appears to be non life-threatening injuries at this time,” she said.

Neither the assailant nor victims lived at the condo.

According to a neighbor who called 911, a woman was stabbed in her chest and ear, and a man was stabbed in his chest and hand.

Police and K-9 units were searching for the assailant but as early Saturday he was not in custody.

Potential charges for the suspect is felonious assault, Fiebig said.
