CNN reported that South Salt Lake Police Department spokesman Gary Keller said Weisman gave the man Drano to drink on April 29, while he was semiconscious after having taken sedatives. Weissman called a ride-sharing service and she and the man went to the urgent care facility, where she told staff what had happened. Police were called to the facility.

Weissman, 43, told authorities her boyfriend thought she was giving him medicine.

"The girlfriend/suspect, 43 year-old Elle Weissman told investigators post Miranda that she had intentionally given her boyfriend Drano knowing that it would kill him," the department said in a statement, according to ABC News. "The suspect said her boyfriend thought she was giving him his medicine."

Weissman was charged with attempted murder and surreptitious administration of a certain substance.

Her bond was set at $100,000, according to Salt Lake County Sheriff’s Office records. As of Friday, she remained at the Salt Lake County Jail.

The victim remains in the hospital.
