Police: Suspect driving van stolen from dealership

A man arrested in Dayton Saturday morning was driving a minivan stolen from a dealership in Hamilton County.

Robert Daniels, 55, was arrested in an alley near the 200 block of Delaware Avenue, according to the Dayton police report.

Police have stepped up patrols in the area because of recent burglaries and the officer stopped the suspect because of suspicious activity, according to the report.

Police said the 2006 Dodge Caravan Daniels was driving was one of four vehicles stolen along with tires from the Colerain Twp. business.

The suspect, who was wanted on two felony warrants, denied that the van was stolen, saying he bought if at a store from a guy named “Ricky” for $10, according to the report.
