Robbery attempt leads to Dayton shooting

Officers and medics responded to the 800 block of Five Oaks around 1:20 a.m. on a reported shooting.

Police found the man, identified as Tremayne L. Adams, 39, of Clement Avenue, suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg, officers said.

The victim was transported to Miami Valley Hospital with injuries not believed to be life threatening, investigators said.

Police said the man was walking out of his friend's house when the four assailants approached and attempted to rob him.

The four people involved in the attack, who police said were drinking inside a residence in the 800 block of Five Oaks, fled the scene in an unknown direction, police said.

Police said $700 was taken in the robbery.

The case remains under investigation.
