A 44-year-old sex offender was arrested Wednesday afternoon at his workplace for not registering his address, Mercer County Sheriff Jeff Grey said.

Francis J. Harmer of St. Henry was ordered to register his address as a sex offender for 15 years following his June 2009 conviction in Auglaize County for importuning, which is soliciting someone older than 13 but younger than 16 for sex, Grey said.

Harmer was supposed to register Aug. 24, and a warning letter was sent to give him seven days to register. As of Wednesday, he had not registered or contacted the sheriff’s office, Grey said.
