Sidney search warrant recovers crack cocaine, ‘numerous’ paraphernalia

A 37-year-old man was arrested Wednesday after police raided his home and seized crack cocaine, marijuana and “numerous” drug paraphernalia.

The Sidney Police Department reported that it arrested Mark E. Bender, 37, after a narcotics search warrant served around 8:15 a.m. on a house in the 300 block of New Street.

Bender was booked into the Shelby County Jail on suspicion of drug possession and possessing criminal tools, both fifth-degree felony charges.

Information resulting in the warrant was derived in part from concerned citizens.

The Sidney Police Department has asked that any Sidney residents who have information about drug activity call the narcotics unit at 937-498-2353, or Crime Stoppers at 937-492-8477.
