Bond was set at $490,000 in Middletown Municipal Court for a man charged with allegedly robbing a person at gunpoint and stealing three vehicles.

Surveillance video from the Shell gas station on Cincinnati-Dayton Road on Tuesday helped detectives identify Dock Gibbs as a suspect in the robbery of a man at the gas pump. A later search turned up guns, drugs and other evidence at Gibbs’ house.

On Tuesday, police received a call about an armed robbery at the gas pumps. The man was getting ready to pump gas into his 2018 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle when an older gray Lexus pulled up. A man, later identified by police as Gibbs, exited the car, pointed a gun demanded his motorcycle, police said.

Gibbs, 24, was also a suspect in the attempted theft of another motorcycle on July 7, which resulted in a police pursuit that was called off for safety concerns, and the theft of a Ford Mustang on July 25.

Police received a call about suspicious activity in the lot of Olive Garden restaurant after a witness saw two men put a strap around a motorcycle and pull it from the parking lot of Lowe’s. After not having success in towing the motorcycle, the two men left it in the restaurant parking lot and fled, according to the report.

Later an officer on patrol followed some tracks in a field in the area of Oxford State Road and Yankee Road and found a dumped car.

“The vehicle appeared to be in very poor condition, with the hood up. It appeared that whoever was driving it had stopped to try to bury it,” the officer said in the report.

On Wednesday, detectives checked multiple locations for Gibbs when they received information that he was at an address on Cleveland Street. The Lexus and motorcycle were found at 615 Cleveland St., and people in the residence were detained.

A search of the residence turned up five guns and more than 11 ounces of methamphetamine. As a result of the investigation, two stolen cars and two stolen motorcycles were recovered.

About 25 push lawn mowers were also found in the back yard.

“I don’t know if he was scrapping or selling parts, just not sure,” said Middletown police Maj. Scott Reeve.
