A local business touched by crime nearly a dozen times within the last three years has now lost thousands of dollars worth of tools.
River Rock Recycling & Crushing owner Orville Lykins estimated losses at $20,000 after thieves overnight Wednesday cut locks of the building and stole tools and other equipment from his 1001 Brandt Pike business.
“This is the worst yet … what they got us for,” Lykins said.
Just last week, he said thieves took tools out of service trucks.
A Dayton Police Department incident report lists items taken that include welding equipment and various hand tools, socket sets, air compressor lines, 150 feet of welding lead and a battery charger.
Dayton police confirm that since January 2016, officers have responded 10 times to the business for various criminal complaints, including break-ins, thefts, vandalism and criminal damaging.
