UPDATE: Sex offender turns self in

A sex offender wanted for not registering his address turned himself in tonight to the Clark County Jail.

Samuel Curtis Kelly, 37, arrived around 8 p.m. at the Clark County Jail, said Sgt. Krista Cox of the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

He was booked into the jail on suspicion of failing to register, and will appear in court Thursday morning, she said.

This is the second time Kelly has been charged with failing to register his address. He also was charged last February, online Clark County Municipal Court records show.

The newest charge was filed Jan. 9 against Kelly, court documents show.

Kelly is required to register his address annually with his local sheriff’s office following a rape conviction involving a juvenile girl in 2004 in Greene County.

A wanted sex offender turned himself in tonight at the Clark County Jail.

Samuel Curtis Kelly was wanted for not registering his new address, which is required following a rape conviction.

The Clark County Sheriff’s Office is looking for Samuel Curtis Kelly.

They say Kelly is a sex offender and is wanted for failing to register an address change.

He is 37 years old, 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs 280 pounds.

Kelly was convicted of rape in 2004 in Greene County.
