VIDEO: Shopping cart attacker ID’d by police

Greenville police have released video of the assault inside the Walmart store last week.

Police identified the suspect in the video after she called authorities when she saw the story on television.

Her identify has not been released and police are still determining if any charges will be pursued in the case.

INITIAL REPORT:

Police are looking for the women they said hit a Walmart customer with a shopping cart, before slamming her to the ground.

Police said the suspect, described as a white female, heavy set, frizzy brown hair and approximately 5-foot-4. She was last seen wearing a grey sweatshirt with Sinclair Community College printed on it and sweatpants. Police believe she was between 40 to 50 years old.

The incident occurred around 1:10 p.m. on Nov. 13.

According to officers, the suspect struck a victim from behind while waiting in line at the customer service counter and then proceeded to hit the victim, grab her hair and slam her to the ground.

A customer service representative said the same suspect did a similar thing several days prior to the incident Friday.
