Two suspicious packages delivered Tuesday morning to a Dayton police station prompted the Dayton Police Bomb Squad to take a look.

Both packages delivered around 11 a.m. by UPS were addressed to different women, neither affiliated with the Dayton Police Department. They had return labels from the same person, but different addresses in Santa Clara and East Palo Alto, California, according to a police incident report.

Due to the suspicious nature of the packages, Sgt. Teddy Trupp contacted Lt. Jason Hall of the bomb squad.

After Hall determined the contents were not explosives, officers opened them.

Inside they found a dumbbell, a can of refried beans, an owner’s manual to a Hyundai Elantra and a vacuum sealed pack with four empty cannabis jars, the report stated.

Trupp photographed the items and boxes and returned them to the sender.

A similar package containing a dumbbell was sent Monday to the safety building, the report stated.
