On Sept. 22, crews were dispatched to the 400 block of Hunter Avenue after a caller reported a dead man in a restroom, according to dispatch records.

Timothy Truesdale, 40, was found dead of gunshot wound in an apartment he shared with Brooks, according to a Dayton police report.

The 911 caller reportedly told dispatcher that the woman who shot him was in fear for her life.

The caller said she had just learned of the shooting from a friend, but that it happened about a week before.

Brooks told friends and family that she shot Truesdale, but that he ran away and she didn’t know where he was, according to Dayton Municipal Court records.
