Dayton’s average gas price reaches 6-month high

The average price of gasoline in the Dayton area reached a six-month high Tuesday morning as many service stations throughout the area raised their fuel prices to nearly $4 a gallon.

As of 9 a.m., the average price of regular-grade gas in the Dayton area was $3.95 a gallon. That compares with an average price of $3.88 a gallon on Monday and $3.83 a gallon a week ago, according to DaytonGasPrices.com. The national average on Tuesday morning was $3.84 a gallon, according to the website.

The last time the average price of gas in the Dayton area was this was in mid-March of this year, according to the website.

Prices recorded by DaytonGasPrices.com spotters ranged from $3.65 a gallon at a Kroger store in Huber Heights to $3.99 a gallon at a dozen stations throughout the area.
