One person dies in Butler County crash involving two cars, semi

UPDATE @ 11:35 a.m.: A 2013 Nissan was traveling southwest on Ohio 128 (Hamilton Cleves Road) when it went left of center and struck a Hyundai 4-door traveling northeast on Ohio 128, according to the Fairfield Twp. Police Department.

The Nissan then continued and struck a semitrailer also heading northeast on Ohio 128 and then came to stop after striking a guardrail.

The driver of the Hyundai was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Cpt. Doug Lanier of the Fairfield Twp. Police Department.

Medical crews checked the driver of the Nissan at the scene for minor injuries and the driver refused additional treatment, he said.

The driver of the semi-trailer had no serious injuries, but was taken by the Hamilton Fire Department to Fort Hamilton Hospital to be checked out, according to Lanier.

UPDATE @ 10:38 a.m.: 

One person has been pronounced dead at the scene of the multi-vehicle crash, according to the Butler County Sheriff’s Office.

A second person was transported to an area hospital, and a third person was treated for injuries at the scene, according to Deputy Brian Bussell, of the Butler County Sheriff’s Office Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team.

UPDATE @ 10:20 a.m.: 

An investigator from the Butler County Coroner’s Office has arrived on the scene of the crash.

FIRST REPORT:

Emergency crews were called shortly after 9 a.m. to what reportedly was a multiple-injury vehicle crash at Hamilton-Cleves Road and Hine Road in Butler County.

Two cars and a semi truck were involved, a dispatcher said.

Some of the reported injuries were serious, according to dispatchers. There also was a report of possible entrapment in a vehicle.
