'It felt like an explosion': 2 hurt when small plane crashes into Texas home

“It felt like an explosion,” Jamilah Foster said of the Piper-PA 28 Cherokee, which hit her home about 5:10 p.m., the television station reported. "I think you'd be more likely to be struck by lightning than have a plane come through your house.”

The crash occurred about a quarter mile west of the Aero Country Airport, according to a statement from the Federal Aviation Administration. The airport is located behind Foster's home, KDFW reported.

The FAA and National Transportation Safety Board are sending investigators to the site, FAA spokeswoman Elizabeth Cory told The Dallas Morning News.

Authorities said two women aboard the plane survived and were responsive when paramedics arrived, KDFW reported. They were taken to an area hospital; no one on the ground was injured, according to WFAA.

Foster, a mother of three, was cooking dinner when the plane crashed. Her youngest child, a 1-year-old boy, was hit by flying debris, WDFW reported. "My initial thing was 'Where are my kids?' Because they were in the living room," Foster told the television station. "I'm in the kitchen. Thank God my 3-year-old was upstairs in his bedroom. But the baby saw the plane come in, and he's got scratches all over his legs from the glass blowing."
