Fog and flooding fill Little Miami River Valley

The Little Miami River in Spring Valley hit a flood stage of 11 feet at about 11:45 p.m on Saturday, Feb. 24, according to the National Weather Service Advanced Hydrologic Prediction Service website. It topped out at almost 13 feet on Sunday evening.

After the rain had passed, cooler air rushed into the Little Miami River Valley over the relatively warm flood waters and created fog from Spring Valley to Waynesville.

The river flooded several roads, which were closed to traffic and remained closed on Monday, Feb. 26:

  • Washington Mill Road
  • Stewart Road
  • Lower Bellbrook Road
  • Corwin Avenue

State Route 725 in Bellbrook, which flooded last week and was closed, did not appear to have flooded and was open to traffic on Monday.
