‘Holy cow, she’s out,’ says father as baby delivered at Xenia Walmart

A baby girl was delivered at the Xenia Walmart early Friday, confirms Xenia police records department.

Xenia fire medics were called to Walmart, 70 Hospitality Drive, to help deliver a baby inside a vehicle in the parking lot.

But the baby didn’t wait and was delivered at 3:46 a.m., moments before the medics arrived.

The husband called 911 to report he and his wife were driving to Miami Valley Hospital but believed the baby was coming soon.

“My wife is in labor and we are driving toward Miami Valley Hospital right now,” the husband named Scott said. “This is our fourth child and she thinks the baby is coming.”

Then just moments later the husband says, “Deep breaths ... breathe. Breathe. ... Holy cow she’s out.”

The baby was delivered at 3:46 a.m. outside the store.

The Xenia emergency dispatcher talks the husband through a few steps, including cleaning off the baby’s mouth.

“Congratulations,” the dispatcher says as medics arrived on scene.

We’re working to find out more from Xenia Fire Department and Walmart about this birth.
