An Illinois man was killed overnight after the vehicle he was driving was hit by a semi-tractor trailer on Interstate 70 near Cambridge City, Ind.
Investigators said a semi driver was travelling west in the right lane of I-70 when he lost control on snow covered roads and crossed into the eastbound lanes of the highway.
The semi struck the car and the car became pinned under the semi, troopers said.
The car’s driver, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead on the scene, ISP said.
The semi driver was not injured.
I-70 east was closed for a half-hour while crews removed the vehicles from the scene around 3:00 a.m., but has since been reopened.
