Police in an Indiana city worked to free a raccoon that was stuck in a grate Sunday morning, WXIN reported.
Meghan Gutierrez found the struggling animal while she was walking her dog, the television station reported. The raccoon was able to prop itself up, but was getting tired and potentially could suffocate.
Gutierrez called Lawrence police, who arrived within minutes to free the raccoon.
"Not the average Sunday morning call, but thanks to their quick actions and response, the (police) were able to help a furry friend out," Gutierrez told WXIN.
