JUST IN: Teen indicted on murder charges in hotel shooting near Dayton Mall

A 17-year-old has been indicted on multiple murder counts and related charges in the Sept. 13 shooting death of a Miami Twp. hotel worker near the Dayton Mall.

Court records show Larry Malcolm Sain has been charged by a grand jury with four murder counts in the deadly shooting of Jayren Graham outside the DoubleTree Suites by Hilton, where the 19-year-old Miami Twp. resident worked.

Sain’s case was transferred to adult court earlier this year by Montgomery County Juvenile Court Judge Anthony Capizzi.

In addition to four murder counts, court records show he was indicted on two counts of aggravated robbery, two counts of felonious assault, tampering with evidence, carrying a concealed weapon and improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle.

He is scheduled to appear Feb. 26 before Montgomery County Common Pleas Judge Barbara Gorman, court records show.

Capizzi’s ruling came after a probable cause hearing was held in January after prosecutors requested the case against the former Moraine resident be transferred to adult court.

At the hearing, former high school classmates testified the defendant pulled a gun on Graham before the victim was shot in a struggle with a gun police have not found.

The female former West Carrollton High School seniors said they were with the defendant and Graham, who they said died after a late-night drug deal gone bad outside the DoubleTree.
