Kitten abandoned at Xenia dog agency

A Xenia non-profit organization that mainly trains service dogs is hoping to find out who abandoned a kitten at its facility.

The agency, 4 Paws for Ability, has video that shows a male opening the facility’s door and dropping a box before running. Inside was a kitten.

In Ohio it’s illegal to abandon an animal.

“Whether it’s your animal or you picked it up, it’s your responsibility. You don’t dump it on someone unknowingly without even asking them,” said Karen Shirk, CEO of 4 Paws for Ability.

Shirk said if the man in the video, had just come inside to ask for resources, he would have been directed to the Greene County Animal Control.
