Local chef to compete for $20,000 prize on Guy Fieri Food Network show

It’s billed as a “pizza playoff” with a rather handsome payoff: a $20,000 top prize.

Brittany Saxton, chef-owner of Six Hundred Downtown brick oven pizzeria at 108 S. Main St. in Bellefontaine, will be one of four chef-contestants competing in Season 15, Episode 2 of Guy's Grocery Games Pizza Masters, a Guy Fieri-hosted show on The Food Network. The show is scheduled to be aired at 8 p.m. on Oct. 29 and again at 3 a.m. on Oct. 30.

Here's how the Food Nework's web site describes the episode:

“It’s sur-pie-val of the fittest when four dough throwers compete in a pizza playoff. First, the chefs must cook decadent pizzas featuring the high-priced topping and low-priced cheese chosen by Guy Fieri’s Pizza Wheel. Next, they must grab all the ingredients to make a guilty pleasure pizza with their bare hands. Then, the final two are forced to make a pie that’s ‘out of the pizza box’ because pizza dough is suddenly out of stock. In the end, only one pizza pro gets the dough - — up to $20,000.”
